Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest - 1972


For the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, Sweden chose their entrant in a national selection called Melodifestivalen 1972. About 1,000 entries were submitted and Sveriges Radio picked 10 of them for the final. The Swedish Final was held on February 12th in Stockholm, hosted by Gunilla Marcus. The winning song was chosen by an "expert" jury with 11 members on it. Family Four, last year's representant, won with the song Härliga Sommardag written by Håkan Almquist.

03. Säg det med en sång - Lena Andersson, 12 points
04. Kärlek behöver inga ord - Kjerstin Dellert, 10 points
05. Kär och sisådär - Kisa Magnusson, 9 points
06. Önskar du mej, så önskar jag dej - Cornelis Vreeswijk, 8 points
07. Krama mig och dansa - Monica Zetterlund, 8 points
08. Då ska jag spela - Tomas Ledin, 6 points
09. Andra kan väl också se - Björn Skifs, 4 points
10. Din egen melodi - Sylvia Vrethammar, 1 point

At the ESC in Edinburgh Family Four finished 13th (out of 18).
